POCAPointAdmin: EditBlock

There is a limited ability to edit blocks. Here are some scenarios that may need a block edit and the relative restrictions.

It is dangerous to edit a block with any appointments so make sure you refresh the page before you a seemingly empty block

click the pencil icon at the top of the block to edit

Practitioner Gets Sick

If a block has been set for a particular day and the practitioner set in that block has become unavailable for any reason you can edit the block and change the practitioner.
This changes the assigned practitioner for all those appointments to the new practitioner.
Please make sure this is a real person and not a temporary name that you reuse or an alias (duplicate) of an existing practitioner. Because EHR records are associated with the patient/practitioner association it will make it difficult to enter an EHR record for that appointment with faux practitioners.

You want to change the start or end time

You can edit the start and end time of a block but only to EXPAND the time. A block that starts at 9:00 AM and ends at 2:00 PM cannot be changed to 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM.

The duration of each slot needs to change

You can edit the duration of each slot in a block IF there are no appointments, so make sure you are looking at a fresh representation of the block. Appointments in a block might disappear from your schedule if you change the time duration of the block.
The system now prevents any block with appointments from changing duration.
